Refuel Your Tank

by Kerry Taylor

I don’t know about you, but my energy is low.  With so much going on around us, for so long, the tank is getting empty.  If I feel this way, I’m sure there may be others.  The challenge is always our ability to fill our tanks back up to be able to give, serve and be charged up.  Try these to help fill your tank back up and get ready to go.

Keep Moving

Start where you’re at, whatever form of exercise you enjoy most, keep it going, or get it started ASAP.  One of the best things you can do for the body is to keep it moving.  A body in motion should stay in motion.

Cat naps, Rest, Sleep, and just chill the F out

Doing this is where the magic happens. Our body has its opportunity to recover with out being interrupted.

Me Time

The hustle and bustle of life can often make us lose our precious “me time”.  Where does it go?  We put it everywhere else, sometimes purposely and sometimes unknowingly.  It’s not selfish to want some of that time back for yourself. Start to reclaim it back. Make a weekly date or 2 for yourself to make sure “me time” happens.  Even better yet, if you can carve out 20-30 minutes at minimum every day and designate it, “time for me”, you’re making huge strides.

Get Rid of Energy Suckers

I’m sure once you read this title, faces and/or names come right to mind. You know, you can be on cloud 9 one minute, and they just crush you and pull you right down. You are left wondering how did you get there. These are the people you need to keep an eye on and manage your time around them.

Water…

This will always be on the list because we can never get too much of it.  Before we go running to our sugary drinks or coffee to give us a little pep, drink yourself a glass of icy cold water.  You will feel a little jolt to give you a little pep in your step.

Examine your fuel sources

Look at your daily food intake, what’s it made up of?  Is it filled with crap, or is it good 1 ingredient, nutrient rich foods?  Food you look at and know where it comes from and what you’re getting.  Are you getting in your veggies daily? The body operates and functions a lot better with whole natural foods.  So let’s make it happen!

I promise you, if you start to apply these tips to your life, you will slowly start to get your tank full again.  Try them out and see how it goes.  Remember, changes don’t happen over night, they take time,  so make sure to stick to it and give it some time.  Take the road less travelled and commit to the changes and be patient.  Until next time, continue to live life 1 degree above the rest.
