The journey with 212 has taken me to places I never thought I would go. If you told me three years ago I would be signing up for two obstacle course races in a month I would have laughed.
My wife, Lyn, thought I should get more exercise. I went along with the idea, after all, I was 70. Kerry interviewed me. I told him I was in pretty good shape.
Growing up I was never athletic. Granted, I wasn’t hopelessly un-athletic, I was just “average.” Often, when it came time to pick teams, I was never the first one picked, nor the last one; rather I always fell right in the middle.
I admit, I’m a bit of an exercise enthusiast. I couldn’t imagine my life any other way! I am a wife, a mother of three wonderful daughters, a co-founder of a small business and I practice pediatrics at East Bay Pediatrics in Barrington.
Thank you Kerry and the entire team at 212 for selecting me as this month’s Member Spotlight. To say I was both shocked and scared when I received Kerry’s email was an understatement.
There are so many people who inspire me daily at 212, so when I received the email from Kerry that I was chosen as Member Spotlight of the month I was honored and honestly shocked.
Kerry and I met a while back when I was working for a marketing company. I came in to discuss options on how he could create more business and truly develop his brand in the RI and Southern New England marketplace.
I worked next door to 212 for seven years before I became a member in 2017. I knew the trainers in passing. I saw the enthusiasm pouring out of the people going in and out of the gym.
Over the years I would describe myself as an intermittent exerciser. I would do a combination of weight lifting and running, but would inevitably fall off the wagon at some point.
Wow, I’d like to say how shocked, honored and a bit anxious I was when I received Kerry’s e-mail telling me that I was chosen for the Member Spotlight of the month!
My journey to 212 came about as it did for many 212 family members. I was active in high school and college sports, got married, had children, and then the old sports injury from college came back to haunt me.
It was a cold, rainy Monday when I received an email from Kerry congratulating me on being chosen for the member spotlight. I was admittedly shocked, but very honored!
To start, I’d like to thank Kerry and the 212 team for the opportunity to be the subject of January’s Member Spotlight. These stories inspire me every month and it’s an honor to be able to share some of my story with you.
