I have been a proud member of 212 Health & Performance since the summer of 2021. Growing up, I was always active in sports like soccer, baseball, and volleyball. I continued playing intramural sports in college and participated in various adult leagues afterward. However, as I got older and had kids, my schedule became more hectic, and my overall activity decreased.
I tried joining the local Y a few times, but I could never establish a regular routine, and never enjoyed going...so I stopped. Once my kids got older and started driving themselves, my schedule opened up more, and I realized I needed to kickstart my fitness journey. I had always been intrigued by 212 when I would drive by, so I decided to stop in one day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the gym had this amazing community vibe to it. I signed up for a five-week trial and was hooked. I've been a member ever since. What makes 212 so special are the people – the coaches, staff, and other members. I love going to the gym, whether it's for a kettlebell or boxing class, a small group session, or just open gym. I never feel out of place, and I know I can always ask questions.
Joining 212 has been one of the best decisions I have made for my overall health. When I first started, I couldn't do a single sit-up, but with the help of the entire 212 community, I am now probably in the best shape I have been in 30 years. I am now actively training to compete in an obstacle course race this summer. I am a healthier and happier person thanks to 212.
