Sean Nolan

Hey 212 Fam! My name is Sean and I’m what you call the “New Guy” at the gym. I’ve been a personal trainer for about 6 months, but have been in the fitness world for closer to 6-7 years. My passion for fitness started after highschool when my health was at serous risk. I wasn’t taking care of myself and I saw where it was headed. With being a young and new father at the time, I knew I had to make changes for my health and to show my son how to appropriately carry yourself. I’ve always been active, playing baseball for 15 years almost 365 days per year, snowboarding any chance I get, and being an “anything outside” kind of person. Recently I took up disc golf, which I’m aware most people haven’t heard of. But it’s been an amazing way to stay competitive after baseball and has allowed me to find a new purpose for training!

The first time I fell in love with fitness was when I started taking running seriously. I had stopped all of my “adult activities” and just hit the road. I remember starting out and only being able to run half a mile. By the end of my first year, I was running 20 miles per week and started entering races! Running was a super power for me. It allowed me to just get out of my head and by the end (or sometimes middle) of the run I was just enjoying the ride. I ended up running multiple half marathons, including a couple trail race ones, and my times were constantly improving.

My passion to train others started once I saw how much my life has benefited from living an active and healthy lifestyle. Not only am I the guy that everyone asks for help (which sometimes is a blessing and a curse) but my mental health became so much stronger. When you take control of your own health, you’re exponentially better to everyone in your life. Friends, family members, and co-workers all benefit from you being the healthiest and happiest version of yourself, and I want to share that power with as many people as I can!

Hope to meet you all in the near future... and just remember that we can all do better!
